Stepmother

By Irene Blanset
Married again, said I'd never
But, this time it is forever
A child of mine and some of his
completes the circle full of bliss
Sometimes the lines are clearly drawn,
but who is right and who is wrong?
You say no, he says yes,
the blended family what a mess.
You're not my Mom a little voice cries,
it's then you want to break the ties.
Kids grow up and so do you, and time
will pass and leave just two.
The two who blended the families
no worse for the wear, but lots of stories
and memories to share.
